Getting Started

Well, this is harder than I thought it would be.  The general idea was to write down my thoughts, give a little insight to actually working at & owning a dance studio ... and attempt to be clever at it.  (I did say attempt!)  And all the while, make it an interesting & eye-catching read.   Isn't that what all bloggers aim to do?  I'm in trouble just picking out the name & web address of the blog!  Sheesh.

There are many reasons I started this, which will come out in my writing, I'm sure.  But as I was searching for some interesting pictures & quotes today for some new ads, I came across another blog from a mom who was starting her 5 year old in dance, had never danced before herself & thought it was too late or that she was too old to learn.  That made me recollect all the blogs and amusing & satirical stories about dance studios and recitals that I've read over the years.  So I started thinking, maybe the world just needs to be educated and maybe I'm just the person to do it.

You see, this is what I've known my whole life ... running a dance studio.  That's what my mom did, from way before I was born and this is what I know best.  And I will admit, I sometimes forget that new moms who just want their little girl to look like a ballerina, don't know why things work the way they do in dance, don't understand why there are so many rules, or don't realize that there will be so many things they will will learn as they go along!  I'm hoping that in writing this blog, I can enlighten not just our studio moms (ermm, parents/grandparents/etc!) but in time, indoctrinate many new dance parents into the world of glitter, sequin, tutus & dance!
